The Ecuadorian Rainforest is located in the eastern lowlands of Ecuador. In the Oriente, there are 6 different communities (Cofan, Siona-Secoya, Huaorani, Achuar, Shuar and Quichua) most of them conserve part of their culture and try to live like their ancestors. The major area of the Ecuadorian Rainforest supports a humid tropical forest. The main artery for visitors is the Napo River, a major tributary of the Amazon River. Its basin is 1400 Km. Long and one to three miles wide. To preserve its Rainforest Ecuador has created different reserves like the well-known Yasuni National Park, Biosphere, the Limoncocha Ecological Reserve, and the Cuyabeno Wildlife Reserve.
